Maria Kaneko, who has a father as a graphic designer, a mother as a writer and a grandfather as a painter in her family, creates works based on her positive will towards life, such as "Thank you for the trails of life.". At the age of 23, she was inspired by the artist, Miwa Komatsu, and instead of going to an art college, she studied art by herself. Without an art education, she realizes openly that she has no professional skills, and values her style with more emphasis on emotional and sensory aspects. The appeal of her work is that her emotions and her view of the world are depicted as straight and innocent.
