Koyanagi's work is inspired by Japanese paintings. He creates Japanese-style paintings that are interesting and unusual for everyone to see, with expression of the texture of classic paintings. Many of the motifs come from ordinary things and he hopes to discover even more strange and desirable textures. He uses technique and material of Japanese paintings as he likes the expressions derived from the texture.
