Yuzen Marusho was created in 2010 by Akiyama Akira. His brand’s mission is to create the highest quality Yuzen kimonos for beautiful Japanese brides. His Yuzen kimonos are unique because they are made of gold leaves and kairaden (shiny shells - including those from Abalone). As all of the Yuzen kimonos are handmade, some can take up to three years to complete. The most difficult part of creating Yuen kimonos is constantly creating unique beauty that will also be widely accepted. He pursues a balance between traditional and new fashion trends.
