Concetto

Sono un'artista di tecnica mista che vive a Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. La mia arte è radicata nella vita a Vancouver, Canada, ma è anche ispirata dalla mia esperienza di viaggio. Creo dipinti evocativi e deliberatamente imperfetti ispirati dalla ripetizione geometrica della natura, dalle patine, dagli strati nel tempo e dai colori sorprendenti dell'alba e del tramonto. Ho la capacità di usare mezzi misti per raggiungere processi più tattili e concreti oltre la visione. Il simbolismo asiatico è presente nei miei dipinti perché cerco di incorporare i cinque elementi della filosofia giapponese: Terra, usando pietra o ghiaia; Acqua, usando la texture; Fuoco, raffigurando la luminosità usando oro o argento dorato; Vento, usando diverse pennellate; e Vuoto o "Cielo"), creando un effetto atmosferico attraverso numerosi strati trasparenti.

Biografia

Sono un'artista di tecnica mista con sede a Vancouver, BC, Canada. Attingendo al mio background nella scienza, creo dipinti evocativi e volutamente imperfetti ispirati dalla natura e dagli stupefacenti colori dell'alba e del tramonto.

Uso la tecnica mista per la sua capacità di andare oltre il visivo, verso processi più tattili e tangibili. Curo combinazioni di materiali e tecniche per astrarre la realtà, raccontando una storia per suscitare un'intima risposta estetica ed emotiva. Per sperimentare questo pienamente, lo spettatore deve entrare nei molteplici strati, sfumature e texture del mio lavoro, ed essere sedotto in un incontro visivo e viscerale un incontro olistico di menti tra l'artista e lo spettatore, ispirando la scoperta di sé, l'empatia, la meditazione e la consapevolezza.

La bellezza, la forza e l'energia dell'acqua e la sua luce riflettente associata mi hanno sempre attirato come scienziato e come artista. Questa connessione che ho con l'acqua e gli stupefacenti colori e riflessi dei tramonti è ciò che ha ispirato la mia più recente collezione di lavori.
