Kohei Fukushima is a contemporary artist in digital photography. While his work is mostly of nature and landscapes, recently he has started a new series where his art is of landscapes that feature people interacting with technology to reflect the changes that technology inflicts on the environment. He intends to point out the plethora of technology used in everyday life. His art also contains another message: “I also create photograph with the deeply rooted Japanese principle of treating nature with respect.” While this ideology originates from the shinto religion, it is commonly practiced and a large part of the Japanese culture. He hopes to spread this important message to audiences abroad.
I was attracted to the messages that each artworks has. I personally focus on the empathy for the vision and message from daily bases so it was nice to feel that.
