Konzept

Ich bin Künstlerin für gemischte Medien und lebe in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kanada. Meine Kunst hat ihre Wurzeln im Leben in Vancouver, Kanada, ist aber auch von meinen Reiseerfahrungen inspiriert. Ich schaffe suggestive und absichtlich unvollkommene Gemälde, die von der geometrischen Wiederholung der Natur, Patina, Schichten im Laufe der Zeit und den erstaunlichen Farben der Morgen- und Abenddämmerung inspiriert sind. Ich habe die Fähigkeit, Mischtechniken einzusetzen, um taktile und konkrete Prozesse jenseits des Sehens zu erreichen. Asiatische Symbolik ist in meinen Gemälden präsent, da ich versuche, die fünf Elemente der japanischen Philosophie einzubeziehen: Erde, indem ich Stein oder Kies verwende; Wasser, indem ich Textur verwende; Feuer, indem ich Leuchtkraft mit Gold- oder Silbervergoldung darstelle; Wind, indem ich verschiedene Pinselstriche verwende; und Leere oder "Himmel"), indem ich durch zahlreiche transparente Schichten einen atmosphärischen Effekt erzeuge.

Biografie

Ich bin Künstlerin für gemischte Medien und lebe in Vancouver, BC, Kanada. Auf der Grundlage meines wissenschaftlichen Hintergrunds schaffe ich stimmungsvolle und absichtlich unvollkommene Gemälde, die von der Natur und den erstaunlichen Farben der Morgen- und Abenddämmerung inspiriert sind.

Ich verwende Mischtechniken, weil sie über das Visuelle hinausgehen und zu mehr taktilen und greifbaren Prozessen führen können. Ich kombiniere Materialien und Techniken, um die Realität zu abstrahieren und eine Geschichte zu erzählen, die eine intime ästhetische und emotionale Reaktion hervorruft. Um dies in vollem Umfang zu erleben, muss der Betrachter in die vielfältigen Schichten, Schattierungen und Texturen meiner Arbeiten eintauchen und sich zu einer visuellen und visuellen Begegnung verführen lassen - einer ganzheitlichen Begegnung zwischen Künstler und Betrachter, die zu Selbstentdeckung, Empathie, Meditation und Achtsamkeit anregt.

Die Schönheit, Kraft und Energie des Wassers und das damit verbundene reflektierende Licht haben mich als Wissenschaftlerin und als Künstlerin schon immer angezogen. Diese Verbundenheit mit dem Wasser und den erstaunlichen Farben und Reflexionen von Sonnenuntergängen hat mich zu meiner neuesten Sammlung von Arbeiten inspiriert.
