Description

"Scream" sculpture, made of silicone and resin, painted by hands. 27 cm high.
It was made as my response on modern social medias culture, when people got used to showing everyone better image of themselves, so with time the difference between your real condition and your virtual image is getting desperately large and frustrating. I choose this mix of realism and expressionism to highlight the vital part of this object. I used silicone as a medium, because it looks and feels like real flesh.

Concept

Polina Verbytska (1989, Kyiv) - artist and sculptor from Ukraine. She has been creating anthropomorphic sculptures and bas-reliefs since 2012. Polina studied fine art at Drahomanov University, Kyiv, Ukraine. She describes her works as the "existential realism", because they reflects the conditions of physical and mental reality without "esthetic censorship".

Polina's solo exhibitions were in Transformart gallery (Serbia), Dukley Gallery (Montenegro), Karas Gallery (Ukraine), IZONE (Ukraine), Barbacan Art Space (Ukraine). Her works are in the private collections in Ukraine, Montenegro, EU countries, USA, Australia.

Now she lives and works in Bar, Montenegro.

What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
