    Description

Winter mountains collage, 50x70 cm (20”x28” inches)

Embrace the tranquility of winter mountains with this monochrome collage artwork, drawing inspiration from the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. Influenced by the work of cubists, this unique piece captures the essence of winter mountains in a striking black and white composition with a touch of blue in the sky.

As you explore this captivating collage, you'll discover a dynamic landscape where skiers gracefully perform figures on the snow-covered slopes, and people leisurely walk amidst the winter wonderland. In the distance, majestic mountains subtly blend into the sky and clouds, creating a sense of depth and mystery. Several black and white fir trees add to the picturesque scenery, perfectly recreating the spirit of mountains in winter.

Meticulously crafted using her innovative technique, Cyrielle hand-cut approximately 250 pieces of magazines to bring this landscape to life. Each carefully chosen element adds a layer of texture and vibrancy to the artwork, reflecting the passion and dedication she pours into my craft. The canvas measures 70x50cm and will be carefully packed with acid-free paper, bubble wrap, and a cardboard box, ensuring perfect protection during shipping.

As the creator of this one-of-a-kind piece, Cyrielle takes pride in her inventive approach to collage art. The combination of soft tones lends a timeless and sophisticated allure, making it a stunning addition to any art collection.

If you're drawn to the serene beauty of winter mountains and seek to infuse your space with a sense of wonder, you’re encouraged to add this collage to your collection. Its harmonious blend of artistic influences and innovative technique will undoubtedly spark joy and admiration.

N.B.: 80% of Cyrielle’s collage artwork so far - on over 50 original collages - was already acquired by collectors. 40% of them were personalized works sold on commission.

  • About this artist

    Concept

From a purely sculptural point of view, collages have always been fascinating to me because they can create relief and depth thanks to simple small pieces of paper. They create a 3D effect that is both moving and alive. All this while paradoxically still, orderly.

I studied mathematics along with art, which shows in the graphic aspect of my collages. Squares, triangles, parallelograms… All the magazine pieces that make up my collages are geometric.

The collage technique I’ve invented is both simple and remarkable because it allows me to build a new reality from several pieces of realities. I offer a new life to paper, a second chance to rewrite its story.

I have always been a creative person, with a passion for reading, writing, and bubbling over with imagination. So far I have written two novels, including one published in France. My collages are the fruit of my effervescent mind and the continuation of that passion for writing.

Each collage tells hundreds of stories. The one that jumps out first: the landscape taking shape. Shortly after, dozens of small details follow, each telling its own story, at the center of the whole picture: a young woman practicing yoga in the middle of a mysterious jungle (Alice in Wonderland), a mountaineer hanging from an ice pillar (My lovely Alps), lemon macarons hidden in the dunes (The Desert Never Sleeps)....

These details are mixed with other, more secret stories: those of the magazines from which the collage was created. The places they have passed through since they were published, when they arrived in my studio, the hands they passed between, the power of the stories they contain....

And then the story of the artist, my story. Like that trip to Asia back in 2017, from which I brought back all the magazines necessary to make Lost in Paradise, an exotic landscape inspired by Bali. Without forgetting the stories that I do not know, but that also permeate the work: your thoughts when diving into my collage, the memories that it awakens in you.

Through my work, my mission is to open your eyes, arouse your curiosity and stimulate your imagination. Imagine, dream and build a world where everything becomes both magical and real.
