    Description

    Collage on plywood, it took me almost two months of full time work and more than 25,000 pieces of hand cut and glued paper. Up close and paying attention to details, the observer will discover hundreds of phrases and figures related to the subject.
    I dedicate my work to people that are source of inspiration and example of overcoming adversity, proof that going the extra mile changes the ordinary to extraordinary.
    Since the beginning of my career, the use of recycled materials has been a constant in my work. I have taken this to a whole other level since all work is based on taking magazines that were destined for landfills and giving them another life as collages.
    The collage technique that I use is the result of years of searching for my artistic identity in a constant evolution reaching for excellence.

    Finding beauty in something destined to trash.

    … And while I cut a page and the next one inspires me; I am moved by the beauty I find in something destined to the landfill.

    The paper seduces me, its strength, its fragility, its versatility ... When blank and empty it opens to beauty, tragedy, love, creativity ... it symbolizes what will be, the possibilities are endless.

    In my case, a magazine or a newspaper destined to the landfill, offers more than that, it offers colors, figures, phrases… but not simply colors, figures and phrases, it offers me the story, the drama that each color, each figure and each phrase brings with it.

    Is hard to express the power that I find in a piece of printed paper destined to the landfill and to which I will give the opportunity to send a new and different message that will last over time.

    Does this art work need a frame?

    In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.

    What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

    • If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.
    • If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.
    • If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
