Description

I love to paint market scenes and vendors selling vegetables probably because of the many colors such scenes have. I was particularly attracted by the highlights on her face, hands, and her bright pink saree (traditional Indian clothing worn by Indian women) from the strong morning sun. The turquoise green wall of the wall behind complements nicely the pink of her saree. This is painted on Arches cold press paper using artist-grade paints. Though I make sure that the colors in the image match the actual painting, there might be a slight variation due to the different monitor/ mobile screen settings.

Concept

Painting for me is a way of celebrating beauty all around us, be it nature, the old buildings, people and their activities, which, a normal person can easily miss as he or she goes about his daily job. So in a sense, Art is a revelation, a way to communicate what I feel and see, with others and revealing the beauty of mundane things in life.
Watercolour is my most preferred medium because it can be used very efficiently both ways – transparent and opaque. There is always an element of mystery, a sense of urgency when painting with watercolours, which makes the process of painting all the more enjoyable. I try to use several techniques in a single painting to please the senses and to achieve the desired result.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
