Description

I use to go paint in Plein Air in the USA, this oil painting was painted in Kemah in Texas in 2018, in the Gulf of Mexico. It was a place that reminds me of Venice in Italy. I was looking around and I found this boat almost alone in this small marina, and as I was fun of sailing boats I painted this small painting on the spot where the lights of the moment are present in the painting. It was almost sunset and it was windy, but it didn't discourage me to paint this painting in this fabulous setting. The reflection on the plants in the water made me use the green color that gives it a unique look.
I framed this painting with recycled wood that I cut myself, the buyer can change the frame if he or she doesn't like it.

Concept

This piece represents an oriental background, it is a horse that can tell the history of North Africa and Spain. I visited the south of Spain and went to the Lahabmbra, an amazing Castel which tells a story that connects North Africa and Europe.
This painting is in oil on canvas where after painting I start to destroy some parts of the horse and I kept constructing and destroying until I come up with inner satisfaction. The strokes go in every direction following the movement even the pillars give a sensation that the building is meltig and from the colors, you feel a light of a special evening in history.
