IGNORING THY SELF

Concept

My name is Dennis Puzon, I'm a fine arts graduate from Davao City, Philippines. My art style when I was in college is far different from my current style now. Some people when they first see my painting from a distance, they compare it like a noodle or spaghetti. For me, it's a good observation because that is the better way to easily identify and remember my art style. When it comes to concept, I don't limit myself to focus only on one certain idea or narrative. I paint whatever concept that I think is good to make. Art is very complex and so as the artists concepts and that is the reason we have different artistic process. In my art, my technique is making swirl line to depict a human body, I juxtapose or interweave the swirls to portray an image or a human figure. That is why people say it resembles like noodles. My inspiration for my art style comes from Francis Bacon, when I first saw his portrait painting in black background I started try to paint like Bacon. I paint in black canvas and later on it develop and make discover my own art style.
