Concept

As an autodidact, I work from the awareness that I am not beholden to anyone. I do not have to strive for an "individual handwriting" and do not have to paint in a certain direction. A strict "judge" over my pictures is only myself.

This large free space creates me a lot of room for always new picture ideas.

I love the variety in painting and deal with completely different themes and techniques again and again. Very often I work on many different techniques and pictures at the same time. I do not want to follow a single fixed line.
An overarching commonality of my paintings is the visual language and expression: My concern is to represent light, space and space.

I work with both concrete and abstract motifs, and also like to combine both.

Currently, I am mainly concerned with the theme of man and combine here the concrete representation with abstraction. The figures are integrated into abstracted spaces, in which one finds the theme of light and space again.

The techniques I use are varied: because of its brilliance, oil paint plays a leading role in most of the paintings.

But I also appreciate the combination of oil paint with acrylic paint to new experimental techniques, especially in the abstracted paintings.

Almost all paintings are built up in many glazing layers and are created within months due to the long drying time of the oil paint. So I always work on many pictures at the same time.
