Description

Layers of stencils cover the surface of this piece in celtic motifs over blurry teal green background on a roughly gessoed panel. It had been prepared with a partial pouring technique in aqua blue, white and gold in the very back for the bubbles to appear on the surface later. The piece is finished off with white-yellow brush strokes with a Japanese sumi brush.

This piece is a depiction of deep waters that is bubbling with lots oxygen enriching its water. This came out of the question of what is my "oxygen" for me in life.

This piece has been varnished with glossy and matte varnish to finish.
By default, I install “D-rings” and a hanging rope before I ship the work so it will be ready to hang. The D-rings will not get in the way of the artwork being framed if you decide to frame it. Please be advised that if the artwork has been on display in a gallery, it will already have D-rings on them.

Concept

Aya Sophie is a contemporary abstract and symbolism artist that works with movement and layers in her art.
She takes advantage of her background of having lived in the United States, New Zealand, and her own country, Japan, to create her own unique style and atmosphere.

She uses acrylics, Japanese washi, some pouring techniques and stencils in her art with a varnish finish to create that ethereal feel in her abstracts. She uses depth of color and harmony to create layers in her symbolism art.

"I believe that my paintings are a window into another world. I am sharing a world I see with the eyes of my heart. I want to bring a world to a person's soul that builds up and heals, a world you can sit in and experience and feel the atmosphere that it may touch something deep in one's heart."

What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
