The theme of the Nativity was extremely popular in Christian art. From the early period of Christianity to the present. Many artists depicted Christmas. I took inspiration from such artists as: Lyuba Yatskiv, Ivanka Demchuk, Kostya Markovich, Danylo Movchan, Jerzy Novoselsky ...
In my work there is a calm color: blue, gold, ocher and gray. Also, I left the tree and added the invoices. I wanted the composition of Christmas to be cozy, so that the holiday of the Nativity was celebrated from her.
The center of composition is taken by the Mother of God with Jesus. She is in a circle that is located in the middle of the cross. Below, on the left side, sits St. Joseph and shepherds. To the right are wise men. At the bottom of the cross there is the tree of Jesé (the genealogy of Jesus Christ).
The left side of the cross contains the symbols of the Virgin: a bowl of manna (since her son is "bread of life" and a non-smoking bunch.
From above, on the sides are two angels. In the center of the cross is a celestial sphere and a Christmas star.
And the Virgin - has always been a symbol of maternal warmth, love, and great faith.
Symbolic of colors:
We used the blue color for the image of the Tunic of the Virgin, which symbolizes heavenly purity, impermanence, a symbol of higher energy. It is a symbol of heaven, another, eternal world, as well as chastity and spiritual purity. Blue has traditionally been writing the clothes of the Virgin, which united in itself earthly and heavenly. The paintings in the temples dedicated to the Mother of God are full of heavenly blue.
The rich blue is the color of the "heavenly firm", the high sky (on a good day), the association to the spiritual, supernatural sky, where the Lord lives in glory; symbolizes mystery, revelation, wisdom and divine incomprehensibility.
We used gold and golden ocher for the nymbs, the celestial sphere and the cradle of Jesus - in the church symbolism, the color of gold, as well as yellow, is a symbol of royal glory, dignity, and wealth. The symbol of God himself. This color is similar to the sunshine.
In a white sheet was wrapped Jesus. White symbolizes the Divine Light. The color of purity, holiness and simplicity.
I used the gray color in order to combine the composition. Make it holistic and harmonious.
