Tango Love

acrylic painting realized on cotton canvas mounted on a wooden frame, stapled and nailed in the French way.

This canvas represents a couple of tango dancer. Being myself a dancer since childhood it is necessarily a subject that touches me particularly and that I like to represent in my works. The tango is the dance that expresses love and passion. I also work a lot on the couple and the love relationship, so I am very invested in this canvas that includes several of my favorite themes.
I chose bright and dynamic colors, the background is worked with a sponge and gives movement to the work.
The characters are literally sculpted in a first step with a mortar structure that I realize based on marble powder and limestone then after drying I put them in paint.
This work with mortar brings thickness and matter which has become essential to my creative inspiration. It symbolically represents life and the need to exist. It brings concreteness in a semi-abstract painting which wants to be suggestive in particular by the absence of face which will allow the spectator to appropriate the canvas and to identify himself by transposing his own emotions and feelings there
