The painting is a collaboration of artists Doris Reske and Cathrin Gressieker. In our ongoing experimental and intuitive CoLab painting process we paint on large canvases, take turns and the layering can take up to a couple of months, or even years, until a finished piece emerges and takes form. 'Butterfly Sky' was in rotation all spring and summer long and reached its final stage just as autumn started to sneak in, as a reminder of turquoise days and easy summer living.
Doris Reske studied art and sculpture in Oldenburg and Cathrin Gressieker studied at the West Berlin University of the Arts were she went after the German reunification in late 1990s.
It is painted using quality, high pigmented and light-fast acrylic paints on a 100% cotton canvas. It is varnished with a satin UV protective coat.
