Description

An example of my style based on Japanese ukiyo-e woodblocks.
I use acrylic paint, in the ukiyo-e style of concentration on line, pattern, colour rather than western 'realism'.
After drawing then painting the image with at least 2 coats of acrylic, I outline the shapes with black felt pen, in the style of the ukiyo-e woodblocks.
This painting is from imagination, with geishas, blossom, pagoda and other iconic japanese images.

Concept

All children paint and draw. Sadly, most stop. I never did.
I have to paint, it is a passion.
I paint usually in oils, but also acrylic and soft pastel.
My subjects include seascapes, the 4 seasons in landscape, Venice, still life, abstract, moonscapes, all usually in thick oils, and my alter ego style based on Japanese ukiyo-e, in acrylic.

Does this art work need a frame?

In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
