From the Layers of Color series, which I began in 2015, I pursue paintings that are purely visual phenomena, where I am freed from the structure of figurative motifs.
This work is the sixth work since the beginning of 2016, and the fifteenth work in the series in total.
The aim of this work was to experiment with different colors with the same awareness as my previous work "1605".
The idea was to create a more detailed undulation in the initial layers, and to create a stronger gap between the solid color layers and the fine undulation layers buried in them.
With no clear theme, message, motif, or plan, the artist judges the next step as each painting or scraping process is completed, and eventually decides on the screen (including its orientation) that will be considered complete.
After the canvas is carefully prepped with a ground coat on both the front and back sides, more than 20 layers of paint are applied to the screen side as a depiction, including partial and solid layers. Then, the canvas is sanded with water-resistant sandpaper while being sprayed with water.
The work is done on a temporary board, and after completion, it is cleaned and dried before being stretched on a wooden frame, so there are no problems in terms of production or hygiene, and the quality of the matiere characteristics and colors can be maintained.
The screen is smooth and can be wiped clean with a dish towel.
