    Description

    The anthropomorphic white animals depicted in this work are motifs that Kobayashi has drawn and called "living creatures" since 2002. In spite of the fact that Kobayashi's works depict only simple eyes, noses, and mouths on the faces of these white, fluffy "creatures," they are rich in "human-like" expressions and gestures that seem to appeal to a deeper level of the psyche.

    Concept

    Something that arises beyond the strong emotions that arise inside me and the thoughts that consist of countless words. It is like a person I can talk to, someone who is just there for me. I live in this world, joyful, struggling, and sorrowful, among the changing times and people. Sometimes the more I learn about things, the more helpless I feel. On the other hand, my heart burns deep within me as I learn of the strength of human life, which never ceases, no matter what the circumstances. The energy generated from the friction of these contradictory sensations is the source of my paintings.
