    Description

This is a silkscreen work: nearly 300 colors are analyzed and the colors are hand-printed on silk plates by artisans in a specialized workshop in Japan. It is a costly and time-consuming printmaking process. I actually assisted in the production of the prints at the workshop and learned a lot. There was a direct flight to Munich and I went to Salzburg with my crew mates. It was a very nice season in May. The old town appears in front of you through the Mirable gardens. I still remember well the view from Hohen Salzburg Castle. I released a silkscreen of the work depicting these thoughts. The framed prints are on display, but prints only are also available for sale. The size of the work is 74 x 42.5 cm. Prints are made on cardboard. Silkscreened at Komine Silkscreen Studio in Japan. The studio is currently closed due to old age.

  • About this artist

    Concept

An endless sea of clouds. The world I dreamed of as a child. The moment of the sunrise, a moment of many emotions, I was a sky traveler. Mr. Tetsuya Ueda is a sky traveler. While working as a JAL flight engineer on a 747, he also worked as an artist. His work has been covered by the mass media and newspapers. He has established a unique world of cockpit art as his art style, depicting scenes seen from the cockpit. His aim to become a professional artist was triggered by two watercolor paintings of size 80 that he submitted to the Prova Grand Prize Exhibition. They are Dreamer and Rome on the subject of Rome. The person in charge told me that Teppei Sasakura had judged the works and said they were candidates for the Grand Prize. The sketches were made at work, and they are the subjects of European and Hawaiian art. Through art, I have been able to convey the excitement of the sky. I would like to continue to create art, including landscapes, in the future.
