Description

Accordingly to the Classic of Mountains and Seas, there was a strange creature called Huan, which lived in Yiwang Mountain. It looked like a wild cat, with only one eye but three tails, and its voice was as loud as hundreds beasts roared together. It was kept to ward off evil, and its flesh cured jaundice. The painter ingeniously blends the western pop art technique into the content of Chinese traditional culture to create a unique trendy artwork.

Concept

The characteristic of this painting is the mixture of Chinese traditional painting technique with western abstract expressionism painting style. The layers of mountains was painted by a traditional Chinese painting technique, and the way I created the sense of flowing water at the bottom of the painting was applied a lot of wet painting to the canvas surface, letting it flowed by itself.Finally, The paint turned out to be a very nice pattern unpredictably. Blue is the key color of the painting balanced by some orange tone. The final touch of white spray at the top of painting reinforced the sense of power and emotion.
