Concept

Koki van Trotten’s works relate what it means to be a human being. They reach into the stars via the metaphysical and translate the natural into her poetic pictorial language. Her paintings open up visual spaces that lead the observer into their own deep-layered worlds. Koki van Trotten was born in East Berlin into a family of physicists. She was interested in painting from childhood. From the cradle, her parents instilled in her the desire to know what holds the World together at its core. She studied architecture and painting in order to find her own pictorial answer to this question.
