Concept

"I mostly paint landscapes. I am not talking about new or current. I just remind you that beauty can be in the moment. It's simple, this moment is like a snap of your fingers. Something attracts attention, a click, and you look, and you can't tear yourself away. It could be the light of the setting sun on a tree trunk, an outlandish shadow, or the fierce colors of the sky in a slushy gray city. I paint in oils using soft, raw ""watercolor"" underpainting and rough, opaque strokes with a palette knife. This allows you to create light transparent shadows and dense, textured light, connecting bright spots and some understatement, which I associate with peripheral peripheral vision. It is to them that we catch these sensations first. And the desire to push the viewer to the emotions experienced at this moment is my goal."

Biography

Biography. Mikhailov Daniil Aleksandrovich, was born in 1982 in Kirov (Kirov region) 1998-2003. A.A. Rylova. Painter-teacher. 2003-2009 IPEI (KF) Design. Environment design. Since 2002 he has been engaged in interior decoration. From 2016 to the present, he is the founder and head of the art workshop ART-SDM (Art Studio of Daniil Mikhailov), which performs commercial art work.
Since 2017 he has been painting. Participates in local and regional exhibitions and plein airs. Works are in private collections in Russia, England, Canada, Spain and Lithuania. Since 2019, a member of the Union of Artists.
