"My name is Veronica Huacuja (wu-a-koo-ha). I am a painter and an art coach that was born and lives in Mexico City.

In my ""Art and Radiology Artwork"" ), the man and its precarious condition (temporality, decay, fragility...) is the central topic of my work. Some initial sources that I use are radiological medical studies done to sick, genderless and, sometimes, anonymous persons. I like to call the results of my work as “Human Landscapes”. By this category I mean to explore the carnal material that we humans are made from.

In my “Portrait Artwork” and ""Human Body Artwork"" collections, I work special characters that are in borderline situations. This means that the artworks are dramatic and in most of them I try to grasp their “exasperated beauty” (1).

My artistic influences are from many Latin American, American and European painters of all times. Nevertheless, my work has a strong influence on Francis Bacon artist's oeuvre.

The pictorial currents of my work are figurative and semi-figurative.

The mediums and techniques of my choice are oil, acrylic on canvas or paper in small (letter size) and medium format (100 x 80 cm or so). And I add one I like so much to work with: digital painting.

Hope you enjoy the work and thank you for visiting!

My name is Veronica Huacuja (wu-a-koo-ha)-. I'm a painter that was born and lives in Mexico City. My work is obscure. It depicts the human conditions.
In my “Art and Radiology” collection, the man and his precarious conditions (temporality, decadence, illness, pain...) is the central theme of my work.

Some initial sources I use are medical studies performed on anonymous, sick, genderless people. I call the results of my work as “Human Landscapes”. With this category I seek to explore the carnal and temporal material of what we men are made from.

A great artistic influence I have it’s from Bacon’s oeuvre (the artist), who in some of his works used X-ray images made to humans and animals. I found fascinating the use of this media as an initial artistic resource. Therefore, in my work I use medical imaging, such as MRI, radiography, ultrasound, among others.

In this way, the rib cage, skull, spine, hand & heart are some organs of the human body that I explore in my pictorial work.
