Peter Foesters

I was born in 1968 in Belgium.
I followed 7 years of art education and graduated in 1992.
With a passion for graphics and painting, I found my way in modeling recognizable objects in plaster and clay.
In the beginning of the 2000 i modeled and painted movie scenes on canvas.

I was born in 1968 in Belgium.
I followed 7 years of art education and graduated in 1992.
With a passion for graphics and painting, I found my way in modeling recognizable objects in plaster and clay.
In the beginning of the 2000 i modeled and painted movie scenes on canvas.

From 2005 i only works abstractly.
i created my own technique by the use of polystyrene on canvas.
The work i make is quite simple by using only straight lines, this makes it tense.
Bright fluo colors in combination with black, that's my trademark.
Depth in combination with straight lines brings a dimension to the work.

That is why i call it ""the straight dimensions"".
I combat the fear of falling into reiteration by constantly searching for new techniques.

I always had a great interest in painters from the 70s and 80s.
Especially the works of Hockney, Warhol, Klein and Basquiat inspire me.

Always keep searching and reinventing yourself: that’s the key!
