"Rolando is an emergent artist and a plastic surgeon in Argentina. As a contemporary abstract artist, his abstract expressionist style is created from his interpretation, his own soul. While his paintings seem explosive and chaotic, there is a sense of precise accuracy that is apparent. Each stroke, drip and flow seems intricate and important.
In 2011, seeking to calm his surgical stress and feed his spirit, he came back to his first love, The Art and he began to paint. The first brushstroke was an emotional shake. When He was a 7-year-old boy, he used to draw portraits in a booklet that were kept jealously. Then, when he was in high school, he used to turn to the artistic and drawing. At the age of 17, he began to study medicine for the typical paternal legacy of that time. His father was a prestigious cardiovascular surgeon in Argentina. He continued drawing and taking art classes at the same time.
According to the Art, his teachers weres Florencia Fernández Alonso, Lupe Barcelo and Jose Marchi, mentors from Argentina.
Every piece he develops, has a story; it has something of him, of his feelings. He allows himself to express and heal through painting.
""I truly believe that Art is so generous allowing us to swim freely in the world of sensations, travelling through darkness and light at the same time. That is why in my work one can observe my different moods: love, fear, sadness, joy, hope, my whole soul"" (Rolando Pisanu)

ARTIST STATEMENT: Rolando tries to create paintings that add visual harmony to a space that soothes the soul of the viewer. As a contemporary abstract artist, his abstract expressionism and figurative style is created from his interpretation, his own soul. His pieces are influenced by so many experiences and by his inner world and emotions. He uses acrylic and oil on canvas. He searches for movements, intense colours and translucent layers in his pieces. While his paintings seem explosive and chaotic, there is a sense of precise accuracy that is apparent. Each stroke, drip and flow seems intricate and important. He is drawn to the idea of balance and imperfection and how that is expressed to the canvas.
