Souta's work is inspired by Utomaru, an illustrator who mainly draws works of American comics and retro American tastes, and Van Gogh, an impressionist painter. He likes unrealistic and fantastic expressions, therefore his style seems to have a close taste. Also, some of his favorite artists and songs have the theme of “moon”, and he likes something related to the moon as well.
He creates a wide variety of things with paper and a utility knife. In 2012, he moved to New York and started his art career. In 2012, he moved to New York and held a solo exhibition at the historic Jadite gallery. He was interviewed by the New York Times and received high praise. In recent years, he has been awarded a prize at the Japan-France World Exhibition of Contemporary Art (National Art Center, Tokyo), selected for the Ecole de Paris (Place des Vosges, France), and specially recommended for the Setúbal Museum in Portugal. He presented a joint work with Theseus Chan at Comme des Garçons DM.
