My paintings explore the practice of intuitive mark-making. Inspired by vivid colours; my surroundings also influence my creative process. Through the exploration of patterns my work represents a sense of freedom and fluidity. The patterns created are unique to each painting, allowing them to stand on their own. With every intricate detail committed to my painting, it creates worlds that exist only within each other. Each piece created has endured a variety of process stages, allowing it to have a significant amount of layering to each painting, creating a sense of depth. In a world where commitment to a concept is favourable, my work stands alone. Vibrancy takes the lead.

After studying contemporary art for the past six years I am confident in my knowledge of living and working as an artist. Studying Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design has helped to develop my artistic style. My studying experience has encouraged me to grow as an individual.
Since graduating in June 2019, I have continued my practice as an artist. Having my own studio in the city centre of Glasgow has allowed me to further refine my skills. Working independently has helped my understanding of the more practical aspects that come with being an artist. In many ways I have found my experience to be a constant learning process. As part of an online gallery in London; ‘New Blood Art’, this transition has lead me to better my awareness of selling as an artist.
During the months of September and October of 2019 I had the opportunity to live and work as an artist in Florence after winning the John Kinross Scholarship. This was an incredible experience. Surrounded by the worlds largest and well known art collections has inspired me to develop my ongoing practice. The vibrancy of the city has sparked my imagination into creating vivid and lively works.
My works have also been on display with The Royal Scottish Academy for their show; ‘New Contemporaries, 2020’. Alongside 62 other graduated artists from universities across Scotland, I was awarded the Fleming-Wyfold award for the best painter that year.
