Daisuke Yatsuda creates stained glass art. He majored in a traditional Japanese painting style called Nihon-ga (日本画) at Tokyo University of the Arts, and learned stained glass art in France afterwards. His parents are also stained glass artists and are known for over 100 works of window decorations at the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo. According to Yatsuda, stained glass and traditional Japanese painting is similar in terms of light.Yasuda’s style of artwork with black and bold lines can be linked to old school tattoo artists from the United States. He has a profound respect for these tattoo artists. For him, nothing else matters as long as it makes him excited like tattoo designs and partition paintings in temple.
