With my work, I document the symbols of my own time using my favorite mediums and means of documentation to create such as sketching and acrylic painting on paper or canvas.
I have a spontaneous relationship with my art, emotional and visual sincerity are crucial; as Picasso said, "I put in my pictures everything I like" and that is exactly what I do. It brings me such freedom and a sense of power being able to paint what I most love.
I started painting and drawing at a very young age In Rome Italy, having an unconventional childhood for an African black woman; living in different countries of the world, moving constantly was fun but I usually felt very alone because I had to lose every connection I made… so I naturally gravitated my attention to art and drawing they made me feel I was not alone.
My creative work is important to me because makes me feel empowered I love the feeling of creating paintings that can bring joy, beauty, reflection, and inspiration in such an unstable world.
My art is the representation of my desire to live a more stable, self-care-oriented life I like to think of my art as a catalyst to a lighter and brighter future.
