Raised in a country known for its masters Picasso, Dali, Goya, I was drawn to art early on. I was fascinated by the emotions evoked by an image, the juxtaposition of colors, textures, mosaics, drawing—In addition to my paintings; through my work I have also explored the art of sculpture and the variety of tools and materials such as sparkles or wood to create a new dimensional texture. This not only draws the eyes to an image but also creates the desire to touch.
Having acknowledged that many themes have already been explored the goal is now to address a variety of subjects: from the lighter side of life to the darker side of one’s emotions, combining elements from the past and the present in a single image. The idea is to present a vision of the world using not only ideas from the past but also combining them with a modern-day vision and modern materials.

Being raised the first 18 years of my life in Seville and Madrid, Spain awakened my early interest in working with Mosaics. It was during my later years in Madrid that my love for art led me to begin drawing and painting. I was given a postcard that had a dress made with actual clothing on it and it stood out. I felt right away that I wanted to create my work in a 3D dimensional form.
After moving to the US at 18, I enrolled at the Corcoran Art School in Washington D.C. were I was able to learn the different textures of paints and the use of tools. During the second year of school, I was invited to do an exhibition with my professor; however, it was at this time that I decided I was not ready to show only a part of what I was. I wanted people to understand what my work was about. I did not want to show just a piece of my puzzle, I wanted to show the whole picture and for that, I needed more time. Time to gain more experience of life and time to be able too afford it.
My subsequent career as a model just came as a surprise. I used models for my paintings but never had I been asked to pose as one. The act of transformation through photography had a huge influence on my later work in which figures are often presented as theatre puppets or idealized versions of humans.
This new assignment brought me to New York and eventually to Wall Street. My career on Wall Street (at the opposite end of the spectrum to the art world) was not only a massive financial support; it was also the fastest way of putting earnings on the side.
By the time I finally left Wall Street, my creative talent was ready to explode and I wanted to take a different path altogether and go back to my paintings. Real life has changed from the Masters’ portraits of royalty, religion or hunting scenes to the modern photographer who endeavors to show reality through a picture. Although the technological capabilities of both computer and video allow for impressive renditions of imaginary worlds, I created my own world through via the traditional medium of the naked eye.
In striving for this, I feel that I have created something new; new textures, new colors, new tools, and together with the issues of the modern world I have turned my brushing of pigments into juicy and humorous dramas in a 3D dimensional form. This exploration allows me to start with a painting and finish somewhere nearer to sculpture without instinctively falling into the mixed media classification.
At a quick glance of the titles of my pieces such as Spring Flowers, Violets or Sunburst, you know what to expect.
The promotion of the universal through a simple expression of art is my aim and humor is my method.
