Biography

A Girl Called Effie Art is the artist name of Effie Gerritsen a documentary photographer from Amsterdam, who is currently living in Cape Town. In her daily life she focus on storytelling and social photography projects. However, when she works on her conceptual art she can use her imagination to express herself.

A Girl Called Effie Art was born during the lockdown of 2020, as a way to keep herself occupied and to keep her creative mind active. By playing around with daily objects and photography, Effie was able to tap into a new part of her creative mind which is wonderful.
