Concept

'Here I am' is an original composition exploring the moral worth of the individual. Everybody wants to fit in, to be accepted, to be ordinary but not the same. Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a dream, realise it. I used the richness and warmth of gold metallic acrylic paint to illuminate and enhance everything around the figure as a means of animating the vitality of life force. I used shades of blue in contrast, to inspire tranquility. The energy of these colours combined induce both physical and mental relaxation responses. Painting is finished with professional gloss varnish to provide both a protective surface and to intensify the beautiful colour energy. Artwork professionally mounted in a 2cm deep floating frame with gold rim ready to hang as soon as it arrives. Comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. Signed on the front.

Biography

My passion for creative expression goes back to early childhood where I loved to spend time drawing, painting and experimenting with music.

My paintings are characterised by an esoteric atmosphere, exploring concepts of the vital force in each of us and the interconnected values of our environment. Pervaded by a sense of tranquility, they convey a place of stillness where magical things happen.

Ever since I could remember, I've had an understanding that we are so much more than we allow ourselves to be and that the realm of non-ordinary reality that escapes the limits of rationality, is not illusory. Growing up, these feelings manifested into passions for art, literature, philosophy, metaphysics and esoteric pursuits.

I try to create art that is both interesting and unique. I draw inspiration from personal experience, literature and music and aim to engage the viewers’ attention to other possibilities and places of higher introspection.

My process always starts with an intention, feeling or theme which is interpreted onto the canvas in layers of colour, form and pattern.

The application of both hand sculpted Japanese Chiyogami paper and gold-leaf are regularly featured in my work because of their ability to intensify depth, colour, shape and reflect light. Water and celestial objects are often illustrated in my work because of their strong association with transformation and expansion.

Painting brings me great inner peace and joy and I hope to bring a sense of magic to your home through that connection.
