My work is a reflection of my existence as a Brazilian and Latin American. I use figurations and the play of colors, textures and words in order to transport and overflow my cosmovision of the world onto the canvas. Sometimes small intimate/internal fragments and sometimes the glow of dissatisfaction and non-conformity with the social, economic and political structures of power. This pendular alternation is also an expression of who I am as a conflicted and chaotic being. I have as great influences Picasso, Tarsila do Amaral and Basquiat for the detachment from the classic aesthetic and for the beauty and strength through which they transmit feeling within the work. As well as, for the message itself present within his paintings through the opening of critical dialogue and the questioning of order and values.

Gianlluca Carneiro (25) is a Brazilian visual artist. Born in the historic city of Mariana in Minas Gerais, he grew up in one of the cultural cradles of Brazil. At the age of six, he had contact with art when he took classes in a studio in his hometown. It was there that he had his first contact with basic art techniques and modern/contemporary artists, fleeing from the sacred and baroque art so common in his city.
Art was always present in his life even when he decided to study law at the Federal University of Viçosa. The university provided contact with a multitude of experiences and critical, philosophical and political knowledge. It also served to show that this was not the way he wanted to go. He graduated in 2020 right at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, when he started to dedicate himself exclusively to the study and artistic production. Today he is an art and education student at the Center for Artistic and Technological Training (Cefart), an essential institution in the history of Brazilian art.
Since then, he has explored the most diverse media within his artistic construction. They are collages, paintings and sculptures that work from existentialist and internal issues to national and international political questions. It is in the human contradictions and tension of the debate that he places himself as an artist.
