Concept

My name is Ulyana Korol. I’m ukrainian painter based in Spain. My passion for nature comes from my childhood… Flowers were my best toys. My mother often used to bring me different flowers from our garden, so I had fun by playing with them and by admiring of their beauty. Having taken colored pencils at a very young age, the first thing I have drawn was a flower. I draw my artistic inspiration from travelling. A lot of amazing subjects often make me literally "hunt" them with the camera and later I paint them in my studio. Sometimes it is the violet absolute of the endless lavender field, golden shine of sunflowers, scarlet red of poppies field, some white oleander bushes, incredible and delicate pink of roses or stunning emerald shades of the sea waves … The main idea of my art is to transfer the emotion of happiness and also love to our nature. My canvases emit warm light, brightness of colors, love of life and these also make them vibrate with the sun, warmth and positive. Color is very important for me while painting. I care about the purity and brightness of colors, as for me it’s the best way to express, how I am fascinated with the topic “Nature”. For more juiciness I use the technique of palette knife oil painting. It makes me delighted to be able to combine textured brush strokes with the image of a graceful bending of the flower petals or the transparency of some sea wave. I think that the nature is the most skilled artist. That’s why I never feel the lack of inspiration, aiming in my works to show its bright, unique and fragile beauty noticed by me.

Biography

Ulyana Korol is an experienced painter from Ukraine based in Spain, whose works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions internationally. She works in the technique of palette knife oil painting.
Ulyana draws her artistic inspiration from travelling. Her canvases emit a warm light and highlight the beauty of nature.
The main idea of her art is to transfer the emotion of happiness and love to the nature.
Artist’s passion for photography also has had an impact on her art. Ulyana captures flowers in macro format. She has transferred this technique to her paintings. The image of a large, very close-up flower on the whole canvas has become her speciality. Particularly fascinating are looking her large peonies. Subsequently, the idea of macro capturing has been also applied to her paintings of water, paying attention to the observation of refraction of light in the water, its reflections.
Ulyana Korol was born in 1980 in Lviv, Ukraine. From early childhood, she showed creative skills, so parents encouraged this in every possible way. There were painting studios and graduation with honors the art school. The desire to create has reflected in Ulyana's first personal exhibition at the age of nine.
She graduated from the Lviv National University, the Faculty of International Relations, and later - the Law Faculty.
Living in the city rich on cultural and artistic events, Ulyana visits various art events, communicates with artists, draws new knowledge and inspiration. Art has never been ceasing to be a part of her life. She continued to draw at every opportunity. However, after having become a mother of three sons there was less time for painting.
Later, as the children have grown up, Ulyana often asked herself, "Why don't I increase the talent given to me from above?"
Eventually, as if an invisible hand drove her back to the dream – Ulyana has bought canvases, oil paints and begun to paint with greater passion. It has happened in the summer of 2014.
