The body and human relationships are predominant topics in my works. The Nikkei identity, a legacy of my ancestors, has crossed from the beginning the aesthetics of my works. Over time, I have deepened the content by incorporating elements, marks and specific narratives of Japanese culture.

An idea settles in my interest with the force of a work when it persists and worries me. Thus the imminent need to materialize it appears. It may arise from the reading of a book, from the contemplation of an everyday image or from a feeling. The material with which it will be approached is chosen according to the aesthetic and conceptual needs that the work requires. Thus, from that initial connection from which the idea emerges, representations arise that can evoke different technical resolutions such as collage with its textures and wefts, or painting when the power of certain colors is required or simply drawing with ink, pencils and/or crayons, or the clay that will finally be transformed into a ceramic piece.

Sometimes the same theme is approached from different techniques and materialities. I don't sketch previously to take that image to what will be the work, because to my perception, it loses spontaneity, I go directly to the material with which I will work, from a vague previous representation, I approach the creation in an experimental way, from the playful enjoying the process.

My work is not unrelated to my training and practice as a psychologist oriented in psychoanalysis. The exercise of this profession with people with disabilities, autism and psychosis, drives me to investigate the issue of human relationships. I have also dabbled in other disciplines of Art such as Theatre. I have directed a play entitled "La Psiconauta del Borde" (The Psychonaut of the Edge) that exposes the life inside an asylum.
