All her life she has been passionated about painting.
Born close to Nuremberg she grew up in the city of Albrecht Dürer and had always been under the spell of this fascinating artist. She attended a private grammar school and her parents supported and strengthened her artistic and socio-political interest.

To improve and refine her techniques she studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Faber-Castell from 2014 to 2018. Inspired by visits of museums all over Europe her art got influenced by ‚Informal Art‘, especially by Emil Schumacher, Anselm Kiefer, Jean Dubuffet, Antoni Tapies, Alberto Burri and last not least by Jackson Pollock and Franz Kline.
She is really into collages and assemblages of all kind. She works with acrylic and oil colors, depending on the subject. With passion she processes heterogeneous materials as sand, wooden parts, trash as well as any kind of plastic.

In the catalogue of the Deansgate Gallery in Manchester you can read about her:
‚Petra is a painter of rhythm, time and space. Her abstact work is ethereal and flows this way and that way in pre-determined patterns. It‘s an advancement on ‚drip‘ painting (Jackson Pollock) because the artist layers the colour and then using an implement drags the colour around the substrate. Petra is also using paint on the rims of circular objects to create a repetitive unifying shape which balances the composition.‘

With her paintings she wants to express a passionated joy about the beauty of life, the beauty of art and the ephemeral beauty of our today‘s world. But she also would like to draw peoples‘ attention on current topics and issues, she wants to make aware of the problems of our time like environmental destruction. No one can express her feelings better:

‚Painting is not done to decorate apartments. It is an instrument of war!‘
Pablo Picasso 1945
