Biography

I was born in small town near Murmansk ( Soviet Union) in 1972. However I grew up in a small town Elgava ( Latvia), where I lived with my parents.
I studied in Latvian Academy of Arts, and also took private Art Masterclasses.
Now I live and work in Riga,Latvia.
The dramaturgy of my stories is based on familiar everyday things, as if insignificant episodes of everyday life. I consider the purpose of my work to be association and communication.
I find inspiration in random moments.
I tried to work in different styles and directions: realism, impressionism, Fauvism, etc., but at the moment I probably feel closer in spirit to expressionism. Mostly I paint in oil, but I like to make sketches of tempera, this is a very noble material.
