Carolyn Mielke: Artistic journey from Lusatia to the world of art With her studio based in Cottbus in the heart of Lusatia, artist Carolyn Mielke, born in 1983 in eastern Germany, has attracted the attention of the art world with her impressive artistic talent. This extraordinary artistic journey began after her successful training in business and design and an impressive two-year stint as an art director in an international group of companies. Since 2011, Carolyn Mielke has successfully dedicated herself to freelance work in the fields of painting, commercial art and illustration. In the process, she has been able to win well-known clients from medium-sized companies, publishing houses and public institutions. The decision to develop as a freelance artist gave Carolyn the opportunity to explore her creative diversity in a wide variety of forms of expression. Her artistic path, which was characterized by mixed media, hand drawings and digital image processing, led to colorful watercolors for textile prints and finally culminated in the intensive occupation with acrylic painting on large-format canvases. Carolyn Mielke's artistic development manifested itself autodidactically in various forms of expression, including abstract contemporary art and expressive paint application using spatula techniques. With a playful use of color, contrast and structure, she creates works that captivate with their emotional depth. The resulting emotionality forms the central foundation of her art. Carolyn got her ticket to the art scene in 2015 by participating in exhibitions at the Living Room Gallery Cottbus (2015-2020) and regional art projects by Viva Con Aqua. Since 2019, she has been organizing and hosting her own solo exhibitions in pop-up galleries at various locations with great success. Since 2020, Carolyn has been represented internationally and her works can be found in renowned online galleries in Germany, France, Japan and the USA. The publication in the illustrators' book "Freistil 7" in 2021 marked a significant milestone on her path from promising newcomer to recognized painter.
The year 2022 brought the exclusive opportunity of a six-month solo exhibition at Deutsche Bahn, while in 2023 her vibrant acrylic paintings were published in the Dutch art magazine "artistcloseup #11" and digitally represented during Art Week Miami 2023 in (USA) at artboxproject (CH). Carolyn Mielke's art is characterized by emotional portraits that reveal themselves to the viewer in a variety of ways. Her inspiring color experiments in contemporary pop art style create a wide range of emotions and bring human attitudes or well-known personalities to vivid gallery canvases that fascinate with their colorfulness and expressive charisma. Her works are a captivating expression of an artistic journey that has taken her from Lusatia to the world stage of art.
