Art is a reminder that the ordinary stuff we do every day is meaningful and beautiful when we do them with gratitude and appreciation. Art can help us slow down, reflect and live in the moment. At the same time, art can uplift our spirits and encourage us to take action. My hope is that my art will nurture a collective sense of gratitude, and in the process open our hearts to a renewed passion and joy for living. Abstraction is appealing because it conveys feelings and thoughts that cannot fully be described with words and realistic modes of representation. It emphasizes the sensorial and intuitive aspects of experience. While my works are abstract, they are based on my experiences and recollections of people, spaces and places. I paint my life stories. Sometimes a song or a book will inspire a new colour palette and at times, the finished painting itself brings me back to a memory. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.
