I am residing in Karachi, Pakistan, and have been exhibiting in different countries. I am a full-time curator in Pakistan and have been running my organization MH Initiatives and my online art gallery. I have also curated Pakistan’s first Karachi Art Summit in 2017. My work has been a depiction of aftermath of childhood abuse. While narrating my own struggles with developmental trauma through my self-portraits, I discovered a genre of emotion in my work. It’s a life-long struggle while making friends, involving in more abusive relationships and emotional stability for abuse survivors.

Mehreen Hashmi is an internationally acclaimed visual artist and curator from Pakistan. Born and raised in Karachi, she has graduated in Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Indus Valley School of art and architecture in 2009. Her work has been displayed in local galleries as well as internationally including Australia, Netherlands, Germany , Nepal and Denmark. She has worked with several renowned organizations including KMC, Culture and Tourism Department , Government of Sindh, Alliance Francaise de Karachi and Stichting White Cube (a dutch art organization). Recently she has been included as a member of Committee of Recommendation for Stichting White Cube (A dutch art organization). She is also the curator of Karachi Art Summit ’17. She is now running her online art gallery
