Concept

Born in 1983 in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Narcis Alispahic is a visual artist, working mostly with painting, video and music based in Lyon, France. He studied in Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia (bachelor degree in 2009) followed with a master degree in Contemporary Art Practices at Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design (HEAD) in Geneva, Switzerland in 2015. Since then, he is really prolific with many exhibitions and art residencies mostly in Europe (Switzerland, France Serbia, UK…). Narcis Alispahic’s art is engaged and can be related to neo-expressionnism (Baselitz, Immendorff... ) and is influenced by philosophy aswell as pop culture references like David Lynch. As a genuine expression of his thinking and observations, art creations of Narcis Alispahic often plays with the relation of painting to the subject itself.
