Thank you for your interest to learn about me and my love of painting. I work in oils and in combination with cold wax. This allows different textures and looks in my paintings. I explore different styles, themes, and techniques. I have studios near L.A., CA and Portland, Oregon. I draw inspiration from these downtown areas. I get the most creative satisfaction as I am carving and scraping back into a painting that allows the painting to figuratively create itself. These moments in my studio are, for me, the crest of creating. Painting is my peace and an avenue through which I can create a connection with others. Some of my paintings reveal my deep desire to make faint social comments through the depiction of emotions, activities, or struggles in life. Other works I approach with the idea of being free of restrictions as I play with the composition, color, materials and techniques. On some days I begin knowing exactly what I want to do and on others it is a surprise.
