Born in Kolkata, India, my art is theme based is deeply enthused with the deep emotions and beliefs of India and strive to express those traditions/expressions through bold, earthen and fiery colours. One would find a lot of Indian Reds & Yellows, Pyrrole Orange, Ochre or Sienna in my artwork.
I am deeply inspired by cubism & impressionism art movements. I like ‘roughing’ up my canvas using textures like resin sand, ceramic stucco or black lava to create the base notes; and several layers of ‘hatching-strokes’ with a broad brush of bold colors adopting a cubist-impressionism style; before toping the canvas with main subject using a slightly realistic method.
I am academically involved with London College of Art. I have been curated by Manhattan Arts Houston, Lalit Kala Akademi, Delhi, 1340ART Magazine of Netherlands, Elizabeth James Gallery, London & Galerie Metanoia, Paris. I am a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild, London; NOAPS, Houston & am Supporter of The Arts Society England.
