Mayumi TAKIGAWA develops her original art style called “Flower Pattern art” which is drawn in a similar way to pointillism drawings but with flower patterns instead of dots. She hand draws numerous flowers of five petals which are as small as 4 mm in size by using a glass pen and colour ink. For undercoat, she uses pastel and colour pencils. To complete these artworks, TAKIGAWA delicately mixes and creates more than 200 colour inks. Her deliberate brushwork adds the presence to her works.

TAKIGAWA mainly draws animals as her motifs. Another feature is the heart-shaped lights in the eyes. Also, she gains inspiration for the background paintings from her favourite pottery. Each drawing is a unique piece.
