NAITO creates Japanese paintings using natural mineral pigments as the main material along with metal leaf and acrylic paint. Especially, he uses the colour blue as the base tone and uses natural mineral pigments that are coarsely ground. Those tiny stone particles interact with each other in a complex way and the reaction creates deep colour tones.
The concept of NAITO’s work is "prayer". His inspiration comes from moments like these...
“When I look up at the moon shining in the sky at night, sometimes I look back on my own life.
Or I don’t even have words when I see the perfect blue sky and the shining clouds. In such moments, I feel tranquillity within me that is like a prayer in silence. I hope to provide a quiet and peaceful moment similar to prayer to those who see my works.”
I was attracted to the messages that each artworks has. I personally focus on the empathy for the vision and message from daily bases so it was nice to feel that.
