Biography

I was born in Okayama, a city rich in natural beauty. As a self-taught artist, I first explored impressionist painting techniques to create landscapes of my place. As I painted landscapes, I discovered that I liked the swell created by the assemblage: piles of leaves, schools of fish, growing moss, and human communities. I abstracted the energy of these undulations once, and then reconfigured them in my mind to give them form once again.
