Aiko is a Japanese painter living in Kyoto, Japan. She has been exhibiting her work in many department stores in Japan. Her work is mainly based on the finiteness and the moment in the landscape of her memories. Her motif is in a wide range such as sunset, rain, sun streaming through trees, the surface of the water, moon, etc. She is trying to capture the moment of moving, and capturing that moment on her work. She hopes to create a picture that allows viewers to recall the scenery of their memories.
Aiko's painting is Japanese style painting 'Nihonga', but she is influenced by many artists who are specified in other genre of painting such as watercolor and oil painting. She focuses especially on the color, so she tries to create a calm, peaceful atmosphere of works even with using multiple colors.
I was attracted to the messages that each artworks has. I personally focus on the empathy for the vision and message from daily bases so it was nice to feel that.
